Long long ago, there was an old man. His name was Yu Gong.

很久很久以前，有一位老人，他的名字叫愚公。

There were two big mountains in front of his house.

他家门前有两座大山。

The mountains were very high and big.

这两座山又高又大。

It was hard for Yu Gong and his family to go out.

愚公和他的家人出门非常困难。

Yu Gong said to his family: "Let’s move the mountains."

愚公对家人说：“我们把山移走吧。”

His sons and grandsons agreed with him.

他的儿子和孙子们都同意他的想法。

Every day, they dug the mountains and carried the stones.

他们每天都挖山、搬石头。

A wise man laughed at them.

一位智者嘲笑他们。

He said: "You are too old. You can’t move the mountains."

他说：“你们太老了，根本移不动山。”

Yu Gong said: "I have sons, and my sons have sons."

愚公说：“我有儿子，我的儿子还有儿子。”

"We will keep working. We can move the mountains."

“我们一直努力，一定能把山移走。”

The gods in heaven heard this.

天上的神仙听到了这句话。

They were touched by Yu Gong’s perseverance.

他们被愚公的毅力打动了。

They sent two gods to move the mountains away.

他们派了两位神仙把山移走了。

This story tells us: work hard and never give up.

这个故事告诉我们：努力奋斗，永不放弃。

If we keep trying, we can do anything.
