His mom asked him to take some wheat to the mill.

On the way, he saw a river.

在路上，他看到了一条小河。

He did not know if he could cross it.

他不知道自己能不能过河。

A cow came. The little horse asked her for help.

一头牛过来了，小马向她求助。

The cow said: "The river is shallow. You can cross it."

牛说：“河水很浅，你可以过去。”

Then a squirrel ran over.

然后一只松鼠跑了过来。

He said: "Be careful! The river is deep. My friend died here."

他说：“小心！河水很深，我的朋友在这里淹死了。”

The little horse was confused. He went home to ask his mom.

小马很困惑，他回家去问妈妈。

His mom said: "Try it by yourself."

他的妈妈说：“你自己去试一试吧。”

The little horse went back to the river.

小马回到了河边。

He stepped into the water slowly.

他慢慢踏进水里。

Oh! The river was not shallow or deep.

哦！河水既不浅也不深。

He crossed the river easily.

他轻松地过了河。
