The Fox and The Tiger

狐假虎威

 

 

Long long ago,

很久很久以前

there was a fox.

有一只狐狸

 

One day, he met a tiger.The tiger showed his teeth and stretched out his claws.

有一天，他遇见了一只老虎。老虎亮出了他的尖牙伸出了他的利爪。

 

It looked like the tiger wanted to eat the fox.But the fox was not scared at all.

看起来老虎马上就要把狐狸吃掉了 ! 但是狐狸一点也不害怕。

 

 

 

He said :"My dear sir,you're not the only king of  beasts,your courage does not compare with my own.Let's walk together ,and you keep behind me.And if people won't fear me when they see me, then you can do whatever you want.

他说：“我亲爱的先生，你并不是唯一的万兽之王，您那威风远不及我。要不咱们出去溜一圈，您就跟在我后面，咱看看。如果人们看到我一点都不害怕，那么我任君处置。

 

 

The tiger said yes,"So the fox led him along the street.All the travelers,when they saw the tiger in the distance,were all frightened and ran away.Then the fox said:"How about it?I walked in the front, and people saw me first.”The tiger drew in his tail and ran away.

老虎同意了，于是狐狸带路走上了街。所有的行人，看到了老虎从远处走来，全都吓得逃走了。接着狐狸说：“怎么样?我走在前面，人们第一个就看到了我。”老虎缩回了他的尾巴逃走了。

 

 

 

He believed that all people were afraid of the fox,but he had not noticed,that the fox had borrowed the terror from him.

他深信不移地认为人们害怕狐狸，而他不知道的是，狐狸仅仅只是假借了老虎的威风。
